Play, study and analyse chess in the browser
A chess app for playing the Stockfish engine at the level you choose, with a coach that flags your mistakes as you play.
Chessany is a chess app that runs in the browser. You pick a side and a difficulty by Elo rating, and play against Stockfish 18, one of the strongest chess engines there is.
What it does
Turn on the coach and it flags your mistakes as you play. Afterwards you can step back through the moves and analyse the game, set up any position in the board editor, keep finished games in an archive and browse openings.
How it’s built
It’s a React single-page app built with Vite and served from Cloudflare. The Stockfish engine is bundled with the app and runs on the player’s own device, so there is nothing to install and no server doing the thinking.
Your project could be next
We take on a small number of projects each year, with founders and teams who want their website or software to work as hard as they do. A sentence is enough to start.
